BAKERSFIELD 

Taking on the whole city, the Bakersfield chapter of the Bhagat Puran Singh Health Initiative is dedicated to promoting health awareness in our community.  We host recurring health screenings and emphasize the importance of preventative health at different gurdwaras. 

 

Kern County’s Punjabi-Sikh community is continuously expanding; consequently, our chapter is dedicated to providing our sangat a wholesome and holistic health screening experience through a variety of consultations with dental hygienists, chiropractors, and physical therapists.

 

We are driven to cultivate and expand our passion to serve our sangat in any we can. Established in 2016, we are proud that our BPSHI chapter has become a collaborative unit within the community; we hope to strengthen this relationship with your support!

INITIATIVES

We strive to build a continuous relationship with our sangat; for this reason, we created the “Early Bird Seva” project, where we deep cleaned the gurudwaras that we planned on hosting health screenings at.  Additionally, we pursued a healthy langar seva project and received very positive feedback; we look forward to working with more gurdwaras to integrate healthy langar on a more regular basis. In this way, our chapter is less a group of young adults who occasionally conduct health screenings and more a group of young adults immersed in the community.
